Level 6 - Planning and Start of Term Statement

During the summer I took time to rest but was also actively working towards ideas for the SP3 module. i started using a journal to document my ideas as they came to me and worked on small drawings and sketches. 
The ideas were:
  • Create some resin eyeballs using a doll eyeball kit I purchased with the intention of referencing how keeping glass eyes, locks of hair, teeth etc were reminders of loved ones that passed away 
  • Buy a children's babydoll toy and cast the face of the doll to mimic a ghostlike childs face in reference to Victorian Post-Mortem Photography 
  • A horror print series emphasizing fear, death and discomfort for the audience 
  • A print and carbon paper series on the impact of grief on internal organs
  • Cast Halloween decor that is organ shaped, and build onto it in reference to the print series of organs and the impact of grief. 
  • Cast dentures/fake teeth toys
  • An anatomy study in pencil worked into in mixed media and collage
  • experiment with cyanotype and etching 
  • Victorian Mourning Jewellery 
  • Subverting the idea of death 
  • Print series of death cultures/rituals across the globe 
  • A mourning photoshoot mimicking Jays Mourning Clothing (Victorian Mourning Dressmaker)
